Michael de Meulemeester (b.1978) is a young Dutch painter well received by the European art community. Michael's works have been regularly exhibited in prominent galleries throughout the continent including The Hague, Eindhoven, Groningen, Maastricht, and others. Michael's academic credentials include two years formal study at The Art Academy in Den Bosch, the International Art Design Academy in Eindhoven, and the Academy of Modern Art, Hertogenbosh.

Michael prefers to paint with oil and draws on a long tradtion of "old world" Dutch craftsmanship. His abstract paintings are a joyful compilation of bright colors and a riveting lexicon that employs a vibrant vocabulary of angels, hearts, eyes, feathers, animals, a variety of insects including bumble bees, boats and other playful images to express his artistic vision. Most of his paintings tell a story of a personal experience.

Michael began exhibiting his works to the public when he was just 16 years old. His artistic talents were first recgnized by his elementary school teachers when he decided to create murals that expressed his vision on the school walls. He contiued to amaze his teachers by the still-life murals he painted on the academy walls which still exist to this day. Michael is very committed to his work, so much so that in 1999 he opened his own gallery in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands and called it Het Zilverhuisje, which translates to mean the little silver house. The inspiration for the name of his gallery came from his first workshop located in the backyard of his grandmother's house where the walls were covered with little silver plates. Michael is beginning the debut of his artwork in the United States at Off The Wall Gallery.
