In 1977, at the age of 26, Thomas Pradzynski left his native Poland for Paris, with the goal of becoming a renowned artist. His interests centered on a strong knowledge of architecture and love of art. His ideal was to "romanticize the empty streets and the traces of the past and to preserve places that are slowly disappearing." Pradzynski's works explore and wander the streets of Paris like a solitary lover for whom every window, doorway and café are filled with meaning. Far from simple architectural renderings, each painting is a personal anecdote, a briefly painted instead of spoken. Often Pradzynski creates an entire vista rather than a centralized scene, allowing the viewer to explore not only the immediate urban environment, but also the less frequented venues visible in these compositions. He tries to achieve a delicate balance between the toy-like qualities of his subjects and the more definitive classical Realism. Always open to suggestions and new ideas, Pradzynski has not stagnated but instead continues to progress as an artist. As the years have passed, his mastery of style and unique reality has gained increasing respect.
